I am not the first line of defence for your confusion

I am not the lackey martyred by your delusion

I am not the echo of an idea whose origination wasn’t me

I am not even the main character of this distorted soliloquy

 

I am carving our path through a delirious monsoon

I am the leader commanding battle at the front of the platoon

I am the voice that will reverb amidst discord about to unfurl

I am not a shield but a sword sculpting my place in this world
