Founding Editors


Richard Georges is a writer, editor, and lecturer from the British Virgin Islands. His poetry has appeared in notable journals and magazines such as Smartish Pace, sx salon, Barrelhouse, and Wasafiri. His work has been shortlisted for the Wasafiri New Writing Prize and Hollick Arvon Caribbean Writers Prize. In 2016, he won the Marvin E. Williams Literary Prize from The Caribbean Writer.

David Knight Jr. is a writer from the U.S. Virgin Islands who grew up on the islands of St. John and St. Thomas. His writing has appeared in The Caribbean Review of Books, ARC magazine, Caribbean Beat, and The Caribbean Writer. He is currently based on St. Thomas, working as a reporter for the Virgin Islands Source.

 

Art Editors


Carla Acevedo-Yates is a curator and writer based in San Juan, Puerto Rico and New York. Recent exhibitions include Turn on the bright lights at the Hessel Museum of Art, The Dialectic City: Document | Context at Laboratorio de Artes Binarios and OB-R at ARTLAB753. Her writing has appeared in ARTPULSE MagazineLa TempestadSouth as a State of Mind, and Sculpture Magazine.

Marsha Pearce holds an undergraduate degree in Visual Art and a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago, where she teaches in the Department of Creative and Festival Arts. Her writings on visual culture appear in several peer-reviewed, academic publications and in platforms that target a general readership.

 

Poetry Editors


Traci O’Dea is a writer living and working in the British Virgin Islands. Her writing has appeared in Poetry32 PoemsVirgin Islands Property & YachtBird’s Eye ViewThe FiddleheadA Room of Our Own, and elsewhere. She is an English Lecturer at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College and an Associate Editor for Smartish Pace.

Richard also serves as a Poetry Editor.

 

Essays Editor


Shivanee Ramlochan is a Trinidadian poet, arts reporter and literary reviewer. She works as the official blogger and social media manager of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, Trinidad’s annual literary festival, and Paper Based Bookshop, Trinidad’s sole independent Caribbean bookseller. She writes weekly book reviews for the Trinidad Guardian‘s Sunday Arts Section; is the book review editor for Caribbean Beat Magazine; and the assistant editor of The Caribbean Review of Books.

 

Fiction Editors


Freeman Rogers‘ writing has appeared in publications including Slate, The Oxford American, the Antioch Review, and the Indiana Review, among others. He is the editor of The BVI Beacon newspaper in the British Virgin Islands and an associate editor of Smartish Pace poetry journal.

Ayanna Gillian Lloyd is a fiction and life writer from Trinidad and Tobago. Her work has appeared in The Caribbean Writer and she has been featured in the Bocas LitFest Who’s Next? showcase and shortlisted for Wasafiri’s New Writing Prize and the Small Axe Literary Competition.
