Break-Bread
The breaking of a body is the start of a closing prayer,
It is the years of bible school put into practice under olive-oiled hands
that broke a body before,
in remembrance on every first Sunday.
The breaking of a body is the start of hell’s war, sister-
break-bread,
In remembrance on every first Sunday.
The breaking of a body ends in sirens and flashing lights,
And walls of Jericho crumbling into wailings,
Serpent’s grip around your chest,
Then legs.
The breaking of a body, means trigger warning first,
A trigger, warning, you will,
Shake now.
You will break your body bread
